After months of scrupulous labor in that cable laden layer that I call office, and shedding exactly 12000 hairs, I am pleased to announce the latest release of Full Frontal Retardation ™ in the form of a game.
SpaceCom Chapter 1: The Big Gib.
The Big Gib takes place in the year 20xx when humanity uploads itself into cyberspace because the Communists have won.
You play as one of SpaceCom’s elite cyberspace commanders.
The trollpatrol of the new cyberspace, Space Commanders are called in to clean the internet up (commanders are the substitute to Raptor Jesus, the existence of whom was disapproved and banned, at the turn of the decade, due to the great Flame War).
You are summoned in to find the source of, and destroy, a rabid influx of Gibs that are DOS-ing the 90’s sector of cyberspace. Gibs are the result of unauthorized tourneys.
The playtime is 40+ hours to years, if you take the very very very last reward-level into account. Otherwise you can finish it before 2012.
All the art, music, coding, etc, has been made by me. No team has been harmed during the creation of this feature.
Music was geared toward having a touch of the 50’s sci-fi world of tomorrow propaganda mixed with chiptunes.
On an artistic level my goal was to explore the sensations you would feel while browsing sites like 4chan or b3ta, and try to reflect it as reality… if you had to make the internet real how would it visually be, how would it sound, and what environment would you be in? Assuming it would probably be like you’re bombarded with a slew of memes, visually and audibly. As if you feel you’ve seen/heard X somewhere before but you’ve seen/heard so many memes by now that you’re not sure. Like the collective unconscious when insane and now you’re wading through deja vu nonsense soup.
It was a notable challenge requiring long hours of brooding and chortling, and if that doesn’t twaddle your tweedle you can always look at something very serious.
