Apparently everyone has an inherent drive to be accepted. Is that because they don’t accept themselves and turn to others to do that for them? Hermits seem to make a lot of sense then. In a group, it’s nearly impossible to break out of a group think mentality.
For example, if the world says blue is for boys and pink for girls, you will end up believing that. Then again, up until the 1940′s pink was considered a manly color, and gentler hues like blue where for women. Trends change and peoples thinking change with them. Is thought, or ‘thinking’ really just a reflection or bias of the times and your environment? Then what truth is there in the phrase “I think, therefore I am”? If you are so influenced by your surroundings, do you ever really truly think?

It appears that you form an individual’s mindset with repetition. Most arguments or discussions today follow that same pattern. The more people who believe in something, indicates that that something is true, despite the lack of evidence or even evidence to the contrary.
Perhaps this is why children are such great conversationalists. They keep asking ‘why’. They’re still uninfluenced by the world, or prejudices of their environment. Then, as they age, they stop asking ‘why’. As one looses the ability to ask that question they appear to loose interest in life. They “grow up”. Maybe the lack of curiosity is an early symptom to “death by age”?…
